How often do i feed my 8wekk old baby rabbit?

i bought this baby rabbit about 4 days ago and he is 8 weeks old and i dont know how often i need to feed him please can anyone help? How often do i feed my 8wekk old baby rabbit?
At this age, your bunny needs unlimited pellets and unlimited hay. Keep them both available at all times. No veggies or fruits yet.

Alfalfa or grass hay (or both) are okay at this age, but by about 4-6 months, you need to start switching him off the alfalfa hay and start feeding grass hay only (timothy, orchard grass, bermuda, etc.).

At about 4-6 months, you can slowly start introducing vegetables, one at a time.

At about 6 months of age, gradually start reducing the pellets to about 1/2 cup per 6 lbs of body weight. As he gets older, over a year, this may need to be decreased to 1/4 cup, depending on his weight, condition, and activity level. How often do i feed my 8wekk old baby rabbit?
For my guinea pigs, who were around that age when I first got them, I changed the food once every day, as they are grazing animals who eat slowly at different times of the day. I think rabbits are like that too.
I use a bathroom Dixie cup to measure the food. One Dixie cup of food a day, unlimited hay, and about one Dixie cup of veggies/fruits (broccoli, cucumber, tomato, spinich, apple, carrots, grapes, strawberry, mango, pineapple, papaya, or dark lettuce leaves, no light lettuce leaves ever!). My rabbit is 6 months old, and I got him when he was 7 weeks old, but he still eats about the same amount of food, maybe he ate a little less back then.
OK, Please, please DON'T listen to blonde babe! an 8 week old baby is WAY too young to be able to handle anything but pellets, hay %26amp; oats!

feeding it lettuce, carrot and bannana daily is asking for problems. that can give it diarrhea, which in rabbits can be fatal if nothing is done about it.

Those can be given SPARINGLY in very small amounts (especially the banana) once the rabbit is at least 4 months old. Some lettuce can make them sick so i never feed it to my bunnies, but you can give them kale - they LOVE it! I give small amounts of kale to some of the babies, but I always watch for diarrhea when i do.

here's what you feed it:

Feed it 1oz of pellets for every pound of body weight ONCE a day.

Some Timothy or grass hay (not alfalfa, it has too much protien, which can turn the rabbit's urine bright red)

steam-rolled oats (optional) - they help with stress, and can help them gain weight. I give mine about 1 tsp with their feed every day.

If it does get diarrhea, give it lots of hay %26amp; oats, and mint leaves (like the kind the have at the grocery store with all the herbs)

And make sure that it always has clean water!
hey,

* three meals a day with one snack inbetween each meal.

hears what to feed them:

1) first meal of the day:

* proper rabbit food (solid) buy it from a shop, not too much about half a hand full.

* half a carrot

*belive it or not bannana is amazing for rabbits!! a bit of banana

(this means that ur bunny has time to eat food, like if he doesnt want to eat all at one shot.

snack!!!!

* lettuce!!!! and a bit of carrot

(remember ALWAYS have a fresh supply of water at all times of the day)

2) second meal of the day:

*lettuce leaves 2 or 3 (always washed!) must wash lettuce

*a bit of carrot and again a banana (makes there coat amazing!!!!! :)

*a quarter of a handful of rabbit food. (not too much)

snack!!

*carrot and banana both half

third meal of the day

*rabbit food a half hand.

*half a carrot

*2 leaves of lettuce

ALWAYS PLENTY OF WATER.

remember rabbits like playing with their food bowls and enjoy tipping them over and making a complete mess of all the food and water it gets everywhere!! so the best is to get a bowls with a wider bottem then surface to prevent them from tipping over.

never leave a carrot/banana/lettuce out near the rabbit for too long maximum a day., as they get bad and can be a health hazzard. always change the food. and freash water contantly.

i hope that helped!

Never feed an 8-week old rabbit lettuce. It will give them the runs and kill them. Actually, I tend to stay away from lettuce altogether even with adults.

Plenty of pellets, water and hay at that age will see them right.
