Should I leave Rabbit in outside cage to have babies?

We went on vacation and came home to find our rabbits (who we thought were both girls) had babies. I brought the babies and mother inside. After I brought them inside,She did not feed the babies and we tried helping but they died? I think the reason she didn't feed them was because she was pregnant again? She is pulling her fur again should I just leave her and the new babies outside? We live in California it drops to about 56 degrees at night. Thanks!Should I leave Rabbit in outside cage to have babies?
Your probably okay to leave your bunnies outside. I hope you have seperated the male and female because the male can sometimes kill the kits, or the doe can get territorial and hurt the buck. You need to go and get her a nesting box to keep her kits in. And you're going to want to check on the bunnies a few times a day. Do not believe that you can't touch the kits, its perfectly fine to do that especially if your bunny is use to you. The mother rabbit will not reject her bunnies just for that reason. Some does are not good mothers and will reject their babies just because. That's why most breeder breed more than one doe at once so in case one doesn't accept her babies there is another mom they can use to foster the babies. If you want to have the bunnies inside you probably can move them now before she kindles. She probably didn't like not having the nest she made for her babies and just wasn't sure what to do because it was too stressful to try to build a new nest. You need to make sure your doe is getting enough food and hay while she is feeding the young because it is very draining work for her and if she is not well nurished then she is going to be a poor mother. Also you need to check on the babies everyday if you feel any cold really skinny ones they are most likely dead (double check they are dead and if they are not you can either attempt to feed and keep that one warm or put it back into the nest wear it will probably die) and you want to remove them so the nest stays clean. I suggest doing a lot of research on breeding rabbits even tho thats not what you intended to do it will give you some of the best info for what to do when the babies come. Good luck and hope your experiance is better this time!Should I leave Rabbit in outside cage to have babies?
the bunnies should be ok at 56 degrees. However if it gets cold enough to freeze anywhere, they should be either packed with straw in the hutch (they could freeze to death) or kept indoors. The bunnies cannot be both males or they will fight and possible kill each other. Youd know this immediately. Both females are fine together. but someone somewhere is getting pregnant. could it possibly that you just got the bunnies and one was already expecting? She could be having a ';false pregnancy'; this time but there are several reasons why animals reject their young. please ask a vet. or a bunny breeder!
Only if you have an extra cage around the cage so other animals can't reach in. My sister once had baby rabbits in an outside cage and a raccoon tried pulling them out one night to eat them. The raccoon got his hands in a reached the babies and tried pulling them through the wire and they didn't fit. He ended up pulling all their heads off while the bodies remained in the cage.
i think you should leave them inside. it might be just a little to cold for them. when my rabbit had babies i read specifically to keep the room at about 60 as the lowest. so i had them on a heating pad. you should have a heating pad on at night if you put them outside.

also, alot of people are probably going to tell you that handling the babies is the reason why the mom didnt feed them. this can be true or false, only depending upon the rabbit. when my valentine had six little lovelies i handled them everyday to make sure they were fed, and the mom was perfectly fine with it.
I think your rabbit stressed out by the sudden move...

Many breeders keep their rabbits outside to kindle and as long as you check them as much as possible everyday (that none have been dragged out from the nest while suckling) then they should be fine.

I hope everything goes well this time...
Sounds like moving the rabbits inside didnt work out too well last time. Rabbits do 'breed like rabbits' and id guess they survive under the mummy bunnies warm fur. Id just let nature take its course....you will have LOTS of bunnies before you know it :)
If you touched the rabbit's bubs then it will reject them, so just leave it outside with lots of bedding but she rejected the bubs coz u touched them.
No you had best not see fit the unique babies
yes
